Talks and discussionsPlenary talksGiven by a world-renowned experts, these two talks will be given the first Monday morning as the workshop opening. They will be open to a larger crowd than the workshop participants (mostly Parisian universities, CEA members and, more generally, who wants to attend). These talks should give a view of our field, focusing on recent findings. They need to be related to the subject of Energetic Particle Processes of the near-Earth Space. Ideally one talk will be devoted to the Van Allen Probes missions and new observations. Each plenary talk will have to speak about at least one (at best two) of the workshop session theme so that some matter can be extracted from it to support the session’s article. Tutorial talksIntroductive to each session, it defines the main concepts, tools, past and current results, main references, etc. The tutorial talk is the matter of the introduction and introductive sections of the paper related to the session. The person giving the tutorial talk will be asked to provide some written material for that matter. The tutorial should include the questions we asked, bringing them into the current context and showing how they could be answered. 20 mins talksRelated to the session, the 20 mins talks are made to provide new results on the session theme. They will try to address one or more of the identified questions. Some of these results can be used in the article. Persons giving these talks will be asked to provide one written section (half a page) for the article. Results display talks with discussionsInformal presentation of results which are related to the session, needs to be discussed by experts, are shown for the first time, and are not yet gathered in a proper synthetic form, etc. We will discuss their interest and, if the author wants (no obligation), see how they can be inserted in the article. It is a presentation of raw material, that the discussions should help to mature. Discussions and synthesisIt will be a hour discussion to synthetyze the daily session, stating which questions were answered, or not. It will enlighten the answers that could be brought during the session. We will decide among the members of the group, what is kept in the article, what isn’t. This session is animated by the co-chair of the session. Writing down all the comments and gathering all the supporting material is made by the chair assistant in the view of writing an article at the end.
